TOC - The command center of the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games
The TOC (Technology Operations Center) is the heart of the IT operations for the Olympic Games,” says Magnus Alvarsson, Chief Integrator for the VANCOUVER 2010 Olympic Winter Games. “The IT team based in the TOC will provide vital support to the rest of the 2,000 strong IT team to ensure that the IT systems are in place and operational to support the Olympic Winter Games.”
During the Olympic Games, a team of 400 IT professionals led by Atos Origin will monitor the IT infrastructure and systems across all 35 competition and non-competition venues from the TOC 24 hours a day, seven days a week. One of their prime responsibilities will be to ensure that the results and athlete information is accurate and transmitted in real time to the 10,000 media representatives in Vancouver, the VANCOUVER2010 official website, the world news press agencies and the four billion TV viewers around the world.
