Tia Hellebaut wins Gold!
Atos Origin congratulates Belgium's Tia Hellebaut on winning a gold medal in the high jump competition with a jump of 2.05m. Tia, the current world champion indoor pentathlon, cleared 2.05m at her first attempt to beat the Croatian favourite Blanka Vlasic.
Tia is one of a number of athletes worldwide supported by Atos Origin, as part of its commitment to encouraging exciting talent in both sport and business. Atos Origin employees across Belgium and Europe have closely followed her in her preparations for Beijing and are very proud of her victory.
Tia has been working hard to get where she is today in the world of High Jump. She has been into athletics since the age of 11 and has been a full time professional athlete for the last 5 years, even taking part in the Heptathlon and Pentathlon!
Within Belgium, where she has broken 18 Belgian records in the last seven years, her charisma and spontaneous character have made her one of the most sought after ambassadors for the sport. Tia is currently World Champion Heptathon indoor in 2008.
