For Atos Origin, our employees are our most precious assets. With their expertise and their high level of competencies, they are able to provide our customers with first class services. During 2009 we launched a number of initiatives aimed at ensuring that we use new technologies to create a new way of working that both matches the social expectations of our employees and the “Y generation” and ensures that we are recognized as one of the best companies to work for.
 

Attracting Talents
Despite a challenging economic environment, in 2009 Atos Origin recruited around 4,500 new engineers and launched a specific plan in order to increase the proportion of young graduates among new hires. In this era of fast technological and economic change, hiring young graduates trained in the latest technologies is critical to the future success of the Company.

Improving Training for all Employees
The people who work in Atos Origin represent a key asset to the Company. Atos Origin employees provide our customers with first class services, they spread the image of operational excellence, and contribute strongly to the competitiveness and the profitability of the Group.

To support our ambitions for our people and our company, we have implemented both local and global talent management and training programs. In 2009, Atos Origin also launched a global e-learning program to ensure that employees have the latest technology skills to meet the needs of our clients today and in the future.

Atos Origin is committed to a work environment where employees are all treated with respect and dignity, promoting equal opportunity and prohibiting unfair discrimination and any form of harassment. Equal job opportunity and non-discrimination are fundamental principles within the Group.

Some of the local initiatives include:

  • In Spain, Atos Origin has created a committee responsible for implementing the Equity Plan between Women and Men in the different activities of the Group locally. Moreover, the company has signed a collaboration agreement with the Spanish Coordinator for the European Women's Lobby (CELEM,) to encourage the participation of women in IT.
  • Atos Origin in Brazil encourages the hiring of disabled people and aims at raising awareness about disabled issues and has established a specific Diversity programme.
  • Atos Origin in France has developed a specific Diversity Plan to encourage the hiring of disabled people into its activities. The plan is being rolled out into all its business activities. Atos Worldline has also put in place a Diversity Plan and created an internal unit ‘Mission Handicap’ that reports to the Human Resources Department.
