"The biggest stadium in the world in Languedoc-Roussillon"
At 10 o'clock in the evening on 16 June 1993, the curtain rose on the opening ceremony of the 12th Mediterranean Games - a competition first staged in Alexandria in 1951. In the breathtaking setting of the lagoon at Cap d'Agde, twelve days of sports and celebrations were about to begin with the best sportsmen and women of the Mediterranean countries.
At the heart of the event, Atos Origin had been chosen to design and develop management software for the running of all operations.

The Systems
Atos Origin worked for a year to develop the systems for the Mediterranean Games:
- The Accreditation System, for the tracking of athletes, officials, journalists, federations, organizers and technicians. Due to the large number of cities hosting the event, 9 accreditation sites were set up.
- The Accommodation System, to provide every Games Family member with a room and meals.
- The Arrival and Departure System, to provide guests, dignitaries and VIPs with services such as translators, guides and attachés.
- The Transportation System.
- The Games' Organizing Committee also decided to use our multi-national, multi-currency capabilities to manage all aspects of their internal organization, in particular their accounting, payroll and billing, as well as management information and budgetary analysis
