14th Mediterranean Games: Tunis 2001
Tunis 2001

After providing services and expertise that supported the efficient running of the 1993 and 1997 Mediterranean Games, Atos Origin was selected as the Games Management supplier for Tunis 2001. Tunis is unique in being the first city to have organized two editions of the games, the last being the 5th Mediterranean Games, conducted September 8-17, 1967.

The 1967 games included 14 sports disciplines. This edition's program was substantially more complex and included 10 additional sports, which brought the number of disciplines to a total of 24 with 23 countries participating in the events.

The Tunis 2001 Mediterranean Games mobilized 5000 volunteer women and men to fulfill a variety of tasks. The volunteer management program was comprised of three stages: recruitment, training and participation, all managed by our SIS application. These volunteers came from all parts of Tunisia, representing the multi-cultural aspects of the country and symbolizing the Tunisian youth's dynamism and enthusiasm.

More than 20.000 participants were accredited, including 2,000 media people.

The Systems used included:

  • Accreditation
  • SIS (Staff Information System)
