Mercè Duch
Knowledge Management & Quality Director, Olympics & Major Events
Mercè Duch is the Knowledge Management & Quality Director for the Olympics and Major Events unit in Atos Origin. She is responsible for capitalizing the events know-how, fostering the transfer of knowledge between project teams and to organizing committees, and leveraging the Olympic experience in the company. She is also in charge of assuring the quality of the Olympics & Major Events’ products and services, as well as improving the efficiency in the unit.
Mercè has almost thirty years experience in many different areas of the IT business. Prior to her current job in Atos Origin, Mercè worked for Sema Group from 1988 until 2000, where she developed her career from project manager to program director, account manager, marketing and business development manager, and contract manager, including negotiation of multimillion contracts. Her professional career started in the IT department of a big public hospital in Barcelona, where she developed her technical skills from programmer to project manager.
Mercè has been involved in Olympic Games since 1989, covering technical, consulting, operational and managerial roles in technology-related projects. She is working with international customers and multi-cultural environments for fourteen years.
Mercè has a High Degree in Computer Science and has participated in several training courses on methodologies and management practices. She has contributed as a speaker in a number of conferences and congresses.
