As a very experienced SAP and ERP implementer, Atos Origin was chosen to implement Intervet’s ATLAS program. This aims to establish a core, global business system platform to improve the support to all disciplines involved in customer orders, product supply, logistics and manufacturing, linking operations with strategy and financial planning.
The software underpinning the platform, SAP R/3, will replace the existing systems in nine selected countries. Atos Origin will implement this and in doing so create a new core business system that will meet the global, as well as local, business requirements of Intervet.
The main benefits of the new system will be transparency in the global supply chain, more efficient business processes, and a greatly improved flow of information. The new platform is also designed to meet arduous regulatory requirements from bodies such as the American Food and Drug Administration (FDA) or a GxP audit.
Intervet was founded in 1969 and is the animal health care business unit of Akzo Nobel. Intervet products are sold in over 100 countries.
"We count on Atos Origin to provide general guidance on putting in global systems across diverse countries. We are not in the business of implementing SAP, so we need the technical skills, expertise and management processes that Atos Origin can provide."
Bryan Gathagan, Intervets’s Global Program Director for the ATLAS Program
