Impress Solution
Atos Origin has more than 10 years experience in professionalizing software development by implementing so-called software factories. These factories are characterized by the perfect balance between people, processes, organization and tools. In 1999 this concept was put into practice in a service called “Impress” that allowed customers and partners of Atos Origin to achieve the same professionalism in their own IT departments. Since then several implementations of “Impress” have become active with different technologies such as .NET.
Since the very beginning of Visual Studio Team System (VSTS), Atos Origin recognized its strategic value for a next level of Impress, because VSTS aims towards maximizing collaboration, automating development and enacting engineering processes within one environment - exactly the same values as “Impress”. After two years of collaboration with the development teams of Microsoft, and building on the extensive service experience of “Impress”, the new service “Impress for VSTS” is now on the market and implemented with increasing success at different locations, including Atos Origin’s own software factories.
Atos Origin and Microsoft continue to develop “Impress for VSTS” together. Both parties believe that this combination can be more than the sum in responding to the paradigm shift professional software development is facing today.
Atos Origin and Microsoft have been partnering for several years already and together, have undertaken significant projects across Europe in many different sectors such as the Public, Telecom, and Manufacturing sector. The 2 companies also share a mutual interest for defining adaptive and innovative solutions that enable customers to anticipate and adapt to business evolutions, therefore gaining a significant competitive advantage!
In 2005 Atos Origin won “The Information Worker Specialization Award” at Microsoft’s Worldwide Partner Conference.
